Hi. I’m Alessio Perrone, LMHC

…..But you can call me Al.

(Yes, like the song.🙂)

My background is rooted in more than two decades of clinical work. I earned my undergraduate degree from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg and have lived in Florida since 1991. After receiving my Master’s Degree in 2000 from Springfield College, I began working in the mental health field and have been licensed  since 2004, serving clients of all ages in community mental health and private practice.

That experience shapes how I show up: grounded, collaborative, and focused on helping you make meaningful change.

When I’m out of the office, you can find me training for local 5Ks and 10Ks, practicing my digital art skills, or catching up on my favorite television shows or book.

So, what would working with me be like?

My goal for you is to come to an environment that is relaxed, supportive and comfortable. Therapy with me is collaborative. I don’t tell you want to do. We will look at your challenges together, build skills and celebrate progress at every step.

I use a wide array of modalities and styles in treatment. However, I most often use evidence based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) - each serves a different purpose depending on what you’re facing.

ACT helps when you’re struggling with overwhelming thoughts, anxiety, self-criticism, avoidance or feeling disconnected from your values. Together, we build psychological flexibility - the ability to respond to difficult thoughts and emotions in ways that support your goals instead of blocking them. ACT is especially helpful when you want practical tools, clarity and a sense of direction.

ART is often the right fit when trauma, painful memories or distressing images keep intruding into your day. ART uses structured techniques to help your brain process those experiences quickly and safely, reducing their emotional intensity. Many clients choose ART when they want relief from trauma symptoms without having to retell their story in detail. You can learn more about ART here

Many clients benefit from a blend of both - ACT for daily resilience and value-based living and ART for deeper healing when past experiences are still shaping the present

Ok! So, how do we begin?

I offer secure telehealth sessions statewide through a HIPAA compliant platform (doxy.me) I’m paneled with several insurance plans and also accept private pay clients. If you reach out through my Psychology Today page, I typically respond the same business day or the next morning if its after hours.

If you’re ready to start, I’m here to help you move forward toward the life you want - whatever that looks like.
